Shanghai – In between the various action sports events, espnstar.com's Eugene Han managed to catch up with BMX Vert and Park athlete Ben Snowden during KIA X Games Asia 2008.

Eugene Han: You have been in X Games Asia five-times, what’s your target this time round?

Ben Snowden: My target is first place for this year. I probably will not get first ‘cos there are quite a lot of competitors.

EH: What do you think of the X Games in Asia?

Ben Snowden: I love coming over here for the X Games. I think it’s a good idea and it’s a great motivation to everybody who lives here. Sometimes, not everybody can go to the US to watch the X Games, so it’s good we come over here for all the people to come and watch.

EH: How do prepare yourself for tournaments?

Ben Snowden: I practiced all the time in my home in California. I’m always relaxed and always focused at the same time. So when tournaments come along I always feel like I’m having a great time. I don’t get too nervous.

EH: How to get yourself pumped up?

Ben Snowden: Sometimes I listen to good music to get me motivated, and I listen to Metallica and Social Distortion.

EH: Will we see a new trick at the BMX Park?

Ben Snowden: Every year I have a bunch of things I want to do like learning new tricks. I have a new trick that I grind up a handrail and then do a front flip. I did it for the first time just last week. I have to have the right set-up to do it here. We’ll see then.

EH: What’s your worse injury so far?

Ben Snowden: One time I ruptured my spleen and spent three days in hospital. That was the worse injury I had.
