AIL Vert Finals: Yost checking out competitors

By Eugene Han reporting from Shanghai

Shanghai - Shane Yost has admitted that he doesn’t spend enough time in Asia competing in action sport events.

Hence, the Australian is back in Shanghai to check out his competition – namely Eito and Takeshi Yasukoto. KIA X Games Asia is a perfect time for him to 'catch up' with his friends in Asia.

“I don’t race these guys (Eito and Takeshi) enough times so this is a great chance for me to race them,” said Yost.

Yost - also known as "the Tazmanian Devil" - is well known for his innovative outlooks on Vert skating. The Aussie was the first skater ever to pull a switch 1080 and the only skater in the world to land a forward 1260.

The 30-year-old who was the ‘meat between the Yasukoto brothers’ in last year’s Vert finals is looking to just enjoy himself in Shanghai.

“I’m happy to be here and just looking to have some fun at the KIA X Games Asia,” said the affable Aussie.
